Real strange one - which I've now seen a couple of times.
I have a database which I'm using with two clients - 5.0.10 and 6.0.0. They both have local replicas of a database, and they both replicate with a domino 6.0 server (win2k).
Once in a while, they will report:
Unable to replicate c:\notes\bill2\HAD\iDMRelease.nsf: You are not authorized to replicate or copy data from this database.
Which is odd. As the "new" ACL feature "replicate or copy documents" has been switched on (and never switched off!)
Obviously after a couple of hours pounding my head against the keyboard (deadlines and the suchlike), I came up with a workaround. Persistent sod that I am.
1. On both copies of the database (local and server), switch OFF the "replicate or copy documents" flag for your user/group whatever, and clear the replication history
2. Attempt to replicate, and get the usual "Your not authorized.." error message.
3.Hit F5 on the client to log off
4. Change the ACL on both local and server to switch on the "replicate or copy documents" flag
5. Hit F5 AGAIN
6. Replicate manually..
And it seems to "clear" itself for a while.
So - I'm guessing that my 5.0.10 client is somehow confusing itself, and somehow setting the flag (perhaps it was used for something else before?).. And once I'm in the loop, I cant get out...
Thought I'd post the workaround so folks can at least continue.. Has anyone else had experience of this ?
Cheers, and see y'all at LotusSphere - I'll be on the Centric booth demonstrating possibly the best user management tool in the world - iDM. You can check it out at http://www.hadsl.com.
